FIRST: Marc Jacobs Going Plus-Size!

The moment ALL fashionistas have been waiting for...drum roll please (rubbing hands together) - WAH LA - Marc Jacobs is deciding to unveil a clothing line targeted at women's sizes up to 14 UK. I know what most of you are saying (sigh), "Um a size 14 (US 10) is NOT, we repeat IS NOT Plus Size." Give Marc and president Robert Duffy an 'e' for effort. This is certainly a step in the right direction, and because we heart MJ, we can't help but get on board with this one. Kudos Marc! We welcome the notion. The company plans to develop the plus size line within a year or so. Stay tuned and remember you heard it here first!

New Obsession: Nicholas Kirkwood

By now you realize we are obsessed with all things SHOES, and what girl isn't...well we know some, but this isn't the blog for them - lol! Get your shoe game up with London's Nicholas Kirkwood. A new and fascinating designer. We love his quirky, yet modern heels and OMG, a pink python...dead. Somebody pour water on us and wake us from the dead please! The earliest collection was 2008 and within a 2 year period, Kirkwood has emerged as one of the hottest shoe designers and we certainly second that emotion. For more information go to:
www.nicholaskirkwood.com

Good luck, these babies are not for the 'cheap' at heart, eh-em, we mean the 'faint' at heart.

Makes My Spine Tingle: DSquared Spine Heels

Our Canadian Homeboys, Dean and Dan Caten have done it again. Gianni Versace (their former boss), would be so proud. We look at shoes as 'works of art' and hell no - we wouldn't attempt to wear these, but staring at them from our closet is enough for us. Somebody get GaGa on the phone and let her know we are holding these for her. We love you GaGa and DSquared, keep getting it in. Not bad for a pair of Parson's drop outs. Hey, far be it for us to judge - we dropped out of FIT NYC as well, or shall we say, we stopped going (and hey, so did Donna Karan before you go there). Creativity and talent, can not be taught, school may nourish it, but talent is just that, raw and alive. The end.

DKNY Pre-Fall 2010

One reason to love one of our fave designers: CONSISTENCY. Got it? Good. You know there are a lot of overtly obnoxious NY'ers (we are not one of them) and hey, one can't just attach being obnoxious to our beloved people of NY, there's plenty of tom foolery to go around with self indulged folks. Ok, we digress. Pre-Fall 2010 just kick started with DKNY showing the power in color navy which continues from being one of the hottest colors for Spring 2010. Boyfriend jackets, classic trenchcoats and relaxed looks mixed with a little nautical tease enhances these looks and we love it. We're excited and can't wait to see what Fall will bring. Bring it on!

Why We Heart Just Cavalli

You know, eh em, some designers who shall remain nameless create their 'less expensive (insert cheap)' versions of their high end lines and they make you want to barf. Not Roberto Cavalli's 'Just Cavalli'. We haven't seen a piece we didn't salivate over. The above animal print clutch is no different. There are endless possibilities with this cute little arm candy. Think all black jumpsuit and boyfriend jacket, or meow - a red hot wrap dress, or if your sporty couture like me, pair this with a crisp white tee, preium denims and a hot suede bootie. Did we mention this is a fall preview...Leave it up to Phree Style to bring you first dibs early on what to wear for Fall 2010. I know what you're thinking, OMG, not another animal print - but the twist is the splices of red instead of the obligatory rust browns that normally acompany any animal print. Love it!
