Haute Now: Zac Posen for Target

NYC: (where else)...Fashionista's start your engines! Zac Posen introduces his hi-lo pieces to Target beginning April 25th. For those of you lucky enough to live in the tri-state area, um, that would be NYC and surrounding areas - you can get your Posen fix before all the other folks. As if we need any other reason to miss living in NYC (besides the god forsakened cold weather) there will be a Pop Up Shop at 34th and 8th street. The sale is being called a 'shopping party' of sorts with a full DJ, and get this - it runs for 24 hours only and starts at 11pm. I can only imagine the foolery that will ensue with cocktails, first dibs on a Zac Posen collection and crazy music blaring out of speakers. Sounds like my kind of par-taye! Good luck getting in and send us photos and scribble 'where you wish you were' to instigate.
The above photo is of a Zac Posen for Target, tiger print dress that will retail for $39.99 - we likey. However we have reviewed the other pieces of the entire collection and let's just say - um, no ma'am - FAIL. The pricing ranges from $16.99 (that would be for a pair of socks) to $199. The day I buy an article of clothing out of Target for $199 is the day I've completely lost my mind. I'm mad for fashion so I guess, never say never...imagine Louboutin for Target at $199....hey, a girl can dream! I digress. We're proud of you Zac, do your thing boy!
Gotta love it.For more info on the pop up shop: Zac Posen for Target shopping party, 481 Eighth Avenue at 34th street (in Herald Square); 11pm on April 15th to 11pm on April 16th.

Have fun for us!

For us unlucky fashionistas we will be able to purchase Zac Posen for Target starting April 25, 2010, instore and online.

Monsieur Jackets: We Love This Trend!

Ahhh, spring is in the air. And like many of you, it's our favorite time of the year. We've compiled a few faves the we love and we have the feeling you'll be jones'n for them too!

Key looks are:
  • Hot pants / boy shorts
  • Military and tribal wear (we've seen this for the last couple of seasons)
  • Sporty looks take the high 'couture' road
  • Jumpsuits and rompers - reloaded!
  • Denim, denim and more denim!
  • The monseiur blazer
  • Chiffon and lace (quite scary but we can dig it!)
  • Pattern and bold mixed prints
Key colors: Navy, Hot Red, Bright Yellow, Heather Grays & lots of pastels.
The great thing about trends is that you may already have one or any of these looks in your wardrobe and you NEVER want to over-trend. 1-2 pieces of any trend is more than enough to mix with hi-lo pieces (high end with low end fashions). All RUNWAY looks are not for you, REPEAT - ALL RUNWAY LOOKS are not for you - so stop it please. The purpose of RTW - is just that - Ready To Wear. Some of the looks on runways are not for everyday wear - for any of us and it's still all good. We love fashion so we understand the meaning of a 'fashion show'. :)
Shop scottphree.com for some of these key looks and have a happy day!

Bloomies Opens In Dubai

Most notably famous in NY and known to Newyawkaz as Bloomies baby - the famed department store opened on Jan. 31, 2010 in the middle east's biggest mall. Bloomingdale's is owned by Macy's Inc and said to be the first venture outside its home maket. I'm not sure if I'd care to shop at Bloomies in Dubai....it seems a bit of a faux-paux. I'm just say'n...

Fresh Face Fashion - Basil Soda

London: The lovely Ms. Kelly Rowland attended the Grey Goose Character & Cocktails Winter Fundraiser for Sir Elton John's AIDS foundation at the Grosevenor Hotel in London on Sunday, December 13, 2009.

The designs of Basil Soda (as shown in the photo) were also on display and Mrs. Kelly represented them well as she strutted her stuff in a lovely season's best Indigo silk gown. Although started in 2001 as a fashion house in the Middle East, Basil Soda is still under the radar - but not for long. We love understated glam, and who would not be impressed with corsages, accessories, lace, satin and silk interplay.

Got Shoes?

It's been said that anytime you see the "Made In Italy" stamp, you can rest to sure you are getting the finest of luxe goods. This designer needs no introduction, well maybe...these days folks are robotic at best with Atwoods, Choos, Louboutins, Zanottis, well you get it - and all the aforementioned are awesome no doubt. But, one should never limit themselves to being a name stalker - well that's just our opinion and we all like what we like. But some things are just well designed and looking at this candy of a shoe it gives us chills. If you are looking for the perfect party shoe - look no further than Deigo Dolcini's sparkling stunner. We do supply napkins for salivating and we're sure you'll need one! You can thank us later for turning you on to something new. It's just what we do.

Your New Year's Resolution: Visit The New Maxxi Museum In Rome

Rome, Italy: We would call Zaha Hadid an architectural genius, but that just may be an understatement. If you love to venture to the MET or Guggenheim in NY or wherever your favorite citys modern museum may be, than next stop Rome. We know, any excuse to go to Rome works for us. Completed and opened in November 2009, this stellar lux building took over 10 years to make and is slated for Spring 2010 grand opening so get your travel plans in gear. Beyond the external, you'll see 21st century modern art at its luxurious best. Intelligent space, beautiful city.....leave the light on for us.

The Gift That Keeps On Giving...Andy Warhol for Bond No. 9

NY - In an ode to Andy's 80th birthday, Bond No. 09 does what they are good at - meshing fashion with fresh scents and making it good! Enter Andy Warhol Lexington Avenue (and we thought Lexington Ave was only good for the #4 train in Manhattan -lol). We are Warhol fanatics so this we love. Perfect stocking stuffer and a spice of a scent. We know Andy would approve. Any bottle that boasts a girls favorite things (SHOES!) can do no wrong...and in the immortal words of Andy (that's Mr. Warhol to you): "See a shoe and pick it up, and all the day you'll have good luck."

Well said my friend, well said.
